Ashby de-la Zouch castle : ウィキペディア英語版 | Ashby de-la Zouch castle
Ashby de la Zouch castle is a castle, now in ruins, built by William Hastings in the town of Ashby de la Zouch, Leicestershire, now owned by English Heritage. == Initial History == In 1474 Hastings was licensed by Edward VI to fortify two sites in Leicestershire: an existing manor house in Ashby de la Zouch and a courtyard residence which he developed into Kirby Muxloe Castle. At Ashby de la Zouch Hastings adapted the manor house- building a new chapel and two towers which still dominate the ruins. One of these towers- the Great Tower- contained a complete suite of domestic apartments. Lord Hastings was executed in 1483 and work to the castle was interrupted before being restarted and eventually becoming the principal seat of Hastings' descendants.
